There is an obvious reason why a good DIY face mask recipe is so darn popular! Because they feel so so good, plus they are so cheap to make.

All the ingredients can be found in your kitchen, and if you choose the right combination of ingredients, you can create a recipe that targets whatever skin problem you have.

The best part is that they work. They require a bit of consistency but they ABSOLUTELY WORK!

Here are some of my go to masks.

I have created a recipe book that contains 10 DIY face masks for acne, many of which I didn’t mention in this article. DOWNLOAD HERE

Turmeric + Honey + Milk DIY Face mask

This is my go-to face mask to calm any inflammation and give my skin a natural glow.

Benefits

Turmeric has amazing anti-inflammatory and antibacterial benefits which are good for acne, because it prevents it from spreading. It is also famous for brightening the skin.

Apart from the antibacterial qualities of honey, it acts as a humectant to help draw and retain moisture on the skin, leaving it very supple. Whilst milk’s lactic acid will exfoliate your skin and improve its complexion.

How to:

  • Mix turmeric with some raw organic honey and a splash of milk.
  • Using a foundation brush, apply all over your face and neck, but remember that turmeric stains!
  • Leave on for 15 minutes and rinse off.
  • Cleanse again with rose water to further remove the yellow pigment.
  • Follow up with your favourite serums and moisturisers.

Rhassoul clay + Rose DIY Face mask

Any time my skin feels congested and there is an onslaught of blackheads. This is the DIY face mask I go for.

One thing that never stops fascinating me about clay masks is how they are able to bind with toxins and bacteria and draw them out of everything they touch. Rose water is also anti-inflammatory and helps calm irritated skin.
