My £20 Baking Pan Organisation Makeover You Can Copy Right Now

When your baking pans won’t stay organised for more than a week, you know it’s time for a new system.

For months, I have tried really hard to keep my baking pan cabinet tidy. The problem was there was no system so we somehow ended back in a chaotic situation.

I tell people all the time: If you keep reorganising the same spot and it somehow never stays organised, you don’t need more tidying. You need a better system.

I needed a system that even my husband couldn’t mess up and it had to be affordable too.

So I gave myself a £20 budget to make it happen.

Step-by-Step Baking Pan Organisation Process

Step #1: I Pulled Everything Out

I started by taking every single item out of the cupboard and I asked myself. Do I really need this?

Anything that hadn’t been used in over a year had to go. When decluttering, I usually use a 6 month rule, but because I don’t bake regularly, I gave myself a year.

Step #2: I Categorised

I made two piles: one for baking trays, muffin tins, cooling racks and grates; and another for cake pans.

If you have more categories, create additional piles as needed.

Step #3: I Decided on My Tools

It’s overwhelming when you don’t know what tools fit the space.

I started by searching Amazon or Pinterest for things like “organiser ideas for baking pans” or “baking sheet storage” to see what was available or if I could DIY something. See some baking pan organisation options I found here.

Step #4: I Measured the Space

This step is so so important! You don’t want to end up buying organising tools that won’t fit.

Measure your cabinet and compare it to the product dimensions online to be sure.

Avoid buying anything that’s an exact fit. You want at least a 1-inch gap to be safe. (I speak from experience!)

Organisation Solutions I Chose

I eventually went with these two solutions. I measured them, and they fit so perfectly even though they were quite snug.

Lid Organiser

I used this for all my muffin tins, baking trays and grates.

They slide in and out easily, and I could nest a lot of the trays so I didn’t have to get rid of things I might need around Christmas when I do bulk cooking.
